Article 2 Section 2
The President shall be commander in chief of the army of the United States
This political cartoon relates to the original scenario #2. It relates to article 2 section 2 because we see that the president took the country to war. At the bottom of the picture the caption says: "now replace '1960's' with '2013' and read again". This political cartoon shares the same concerns as the article "Obama wants war". They fear that that what happened in 1964 might repeat and that many lives would be lost.

In this article, the United States prepares to bypass United Nation on Syria’s response. President Obama is ready to launch unilateral military assault on Syria. He firmly believes he’s following the constitution but according to article 2 section 2: “The President shall be commander in chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the militia of the several states, when called into the actual service of the United States”. This article shows that it is indeed the president’s duty to be commander in chief but that’s only if he’s needed. Therefore Obama’s declaration of war is considered unilateral. The author of this article claims that the situation in syria has always been a proxy war war between the US. and Russia. Many people fear that a war against syria might result in the lost of many civilians and could possibly start a third World War.
